Crystal Clear

I moved approx. 4 ½ years ago. I have crystal that I packed prior to the move and just took them out of the crystal case this morning (12/7/15).  Although all of the crystal was packaged in the same crystal case and wrapped with the protective felt covering, many of the pieces were broken. Several times during these years the boxes were tossed and roughly handled from moving.  At first, I didn’t understand why some were broken and other pieces survived..... At that moment, God reveled to me and made it "crystal clear" that just like that crysyal, we as Christians are often package in the same protective box and felt covering (ministry, the Word, etc.). We are often times roughly handled through trials and tribulations. Although we suffer the same bumps and bruises, some will not be able to handle the journey. Although we are covered by the same cloth, we are not all equipped the same on the INSIDE! You can go to church, sit under a good ministry, etc. But if you don’t have G...

The Fill Up

The Fill Up      When I was a child, one day I decided that I was going to do something great for my Dad. I wanted to fill up his truck and my brother to help me. We took the water hose, placed it in the gas tank and let the water run in until it had overflowed. We were so proud and kept it a secret because we wanted to surprise him. Boy, was he surprised when he tried to drive. He had a little trouble cranking the truck up but was able to finally get it started. He made it out of the driveway and up the hill before the truck stopped. We didn’t know what was wrong. The water looked just like gas and the gas hand indicated that it was full. Long story short, we tore that engine up.      Some of us are just like that truck-walking around and testifying that we are saved, sanctified and filled with Holy Spirit but are not. Some are full of something - but not the right something. We look like and give the appearance that we are running on ...

There's Something Special About You

There's Something Special About You There's something special about you And if I know it, Satan knows it too Your beautiful smile and sparkling eyes identifies you As a child of God who has strayed away, lost and confused You're special and Satan knows it So he befriends you with his many tricks By letting you cry on his shoulder and saying, I know God has left you all alone Making you feel that you're nothing but a filthy sinner with no one to call upon Then he strokes you with his hands to comfort you in your dismay Penetrating you with feeling of guilt, unworthiness and shame Consumed with sin, you walk around, longing to go back home Then Satan tries to convince you to stay, saying, you're too far gone After all you've done, you really think that your Father still cares? Then Satan reminds you of the relationship that the two of you share He reminds you of how he was there when God turned His back on you And reminisced of how he caressed y...

Daddy, I Need You

"Daddy, I Need You" According to the 2011 US Census Bureau, 24 million children live apart from their biological fathers. That is 1 in every 3 children in America. Out of this number 64% are African American, 34% Hispanic and 25% White American.      I will never forget the day that I witnessed a man in his 40’s crying while pouring out his heart to his aging father. There he stood, torn between love and hate. Part of him wanted to embrace while part wanted to lash out with words of hurt and pain. His issues with his father stemmed back as early as he could remember. The conversation included a life - long relationship of broken promises. He reminded his father of the times when he waited for him to pick him up for a weekend visit only to experience a ‘no show’. He expressed how he often waited for him on the porch with packed bags in excitement and anticipation of their weekend together only to be fed a plate of habitual broken promises that had continued even...

Not Good Enough

Not Good Enough      When I was a child, Satan tried to convince me through people and generational curses that I was not good enough. He tried to confuse me through circumstances, trials, pain and tears. I spent years making choices based off of these negative words and curses that were implanted deep into my spirit. But Lord, I thank you for never stop loving or giving up on me.                                                 When I began to remind myself of the promises of God, recognize that I am a child of God, when I allowed him to take control of my thoughts and actions and began to speak the word of God over my life- something happened. Things began to shift and move.      I believe that everyone should have a Bible promise book so during those moments of doubt and despair you can go to the topic of your need...

Pack Up or Put Up

"Pack Up" or "Put Up" In life, we are faced with so many decisions. Should I “pack up” and leave or should I “put up” my belongings and stay? This can apply to a job, a relationship, church, a business, etc.  If you move into a home but never unpack, you are not truly living there. You could also be living in a home with your belongings put away but you may have mentally packed up.  Do you find yourself complaining or complimenting more about that job, relationship, church, business, etc.? “Decisions are the hardest move to make. Especially when it’s a choice between where you should be and where you want to be”.  Unknown Author LifebySabrina
